For this lovely styled vow renewal shoot, we wanted the aesthetic to be warm and welcoming, with a neutral palette, landscape setting, and tons of texture! The renewal was made even more beautiful in the earthy bush, our location taking us an hour or so south of Calgary, to a little valley in the countryside of Alberta.
This styled shoot definitely lends itself to autumnal styling, and the florals that Fall For Florals provided were no exception. We love the unique arrangements of dried florals paired with wildflowers. The bouquet almost looks as if it could be picked from the surrounding bush!
Reid, the groom, was outfitted in Ed William’s Mens Wear, wearing a crisp white shirt and fitted pants, and later changed into a contemporary knitted sweater for the evening portion.
This just goes to show that for wedding events (or vow renewals), the outfits don’t always have to be over-the-top extravagant to be lovely and elegant. Sometimes dressing a little more casually (ie. boots rather than heels) is the best way to remain comfortable and content throughout a long day of events.
The flatlays were styled with unique vintage items (brass trinkets and a brown leather wallet) from Prairie Bazaar. And of course, we can’t forget the jewelry! The gorgeous opal ring is from Evorden, and it’s sitting in one of Voeu-du-Coeur’s lovely velvet ring boxes.
Sancia from the Toth’s Photo and Film captured this day perfectly. She was also the photographer of Becca and Reid’s elopement at Lake Louise 3 years earlier! You can find their stunning elopement here on Junebug Weddings.
Here’s what Sancia had to say about her and her husband’s approach:
“Our goal is to create images and films that make you feel something. We feel responsible for capturing celebrations with an honest approach, always striving for authenticity, and seeking out moments that will be cherished forever”.
Fall for Florals created a stunning floral centrepiece for the table, and there were vintage rentals from Prairie Bazaar which added richness to the rustic bohemian aesthetic. The table runners were custom designed and hand woven by a talented local artisan, Avelane Wall Art. They were such a unique addition to the shoot, and you know how we love unique wedding decor!
Pretty Sweet Co made a delicious Berry Galette! We love this as a substitute cake option for those who favour more of a fruity dessert finish.
A vow renewal like this is such an intimate affair. Be intentional about spending time with your spouse. We love the idea of this small farmyard picnic, a romantic, intimate setting for the couple to be able to finish their evening as the sun sets. It involved hot beverages, vintage mugs from Prairie Bazaar, that delicious berry Galette, and slow dancing in a barley field.
