The whole experience was amazing! From communication before the workshop - even to communication after! The shootout was so perfectly curated and you always had something to shoot in an intimate setting with the perfect amount of people. The couple was engaging and fun, and the model was experienced - everything opening up the creativity flood gates.

It's so financially affordable for the type of education you get back and the images you take away from it alone should be a reason to attend. The styling is thoughtful, and I think there is at least one "mood" from the shoots that would appeal to someone out there. It is such great marketing to have these kind of images on your websites/feeds, it will definitely lead in brides that will fall in love. I couldn't recommend it more.”

I have now attended a True to Hue Workshop and Shootout and I loved them both! It felt so good to learn and shoot in a safe space, without the stress of having to nail every shot. It truly sparked my creativity and I gained so much confidence. Invest in yourself - it’s worth it! Seafoam was a perfect set up for a shootout and sparked my creativity behind the camera. This was my first ever photography workshop and it blew my expectations out of the water! True to Hue is a series of educational workshops & inspirational shootout sessions hosted & curated by Brontë Bride! They are designed to captivate, educate, and grow our creative community.
Most sessions are for photographers and videographers alike, to discover new techniques, strengthen their portfolio, and get creative with their local community! We are also looking at offering more business-related workshops that will appeal to a variety of local businesses in the wedding industry.

My primary role is to curate an amazing team of vendors, styling elements, & decor to create something you’ve never seen before (and definitely never photographed before). I had been to a few business workshops before with much smaller scale styled shoots- but this was over the top (in the most amazing, exceeding all expectations kind of way!!!) As always, Bronte Bride has designed and styled a session that is straight out of my Pinterest dreams. The photos I shot during the shoot out were some of my favorite EVER and as even as soon as I walked over the hill and saw the set-up from afar I KNEW this session was going to be so dreamy. I can't wait to add these photos to my portfolio and attract clients who love the same romantic details and emotion-filled moments that I found here.

GENERAL FAQ
To register, make sure you're signed up for our email list to get the earlybird registration link! Fill out our registration form and pay the attached invoice. Once you have submitted your registration, you will be sent a participant agreement form.
Once you have paid the invoice and signed the attendee agreement form, you are officially registered for the workshop! Before the session, you will receive an email with further information regarding what you need to bring, how to prepare, the exact location, etc.
HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A SESSION?
The shootout and workshop sessions are currently designed for photographers and videographers to shoot beautiful content, build community, and learn from other amazing photographers or videographers! No matter what level you’re at, these workshops are great to add to your portfolio, learn technical skills, and build your brand!
We hope to soon be able to host in-person workshops for other industry professionals as well!
WHO CAN ATTEND?
A shootout is strictly an inspiration session. We put together an amazing styled shoot, with talented local vendors and beautiful wedding inspiration. We do the work so you don't have to! And then you get to show up and shoot the beautiful content!
Workshops involve an instructor and specific educational content. Each session page will have information on the instructor, and their teaching points.
What's the difference between a shootout and a workshop?
We pride ourselves in being a modern publication catering to the modern & bold bride. Our style is the same; we love bold colour, unique styling elements, and wow-worthy decor. Our aesthetic is contemporary and sometimes edgy - and we love experimenting with new (or old) trends.
While we do have a vision for each workshop, we will be collaborating with extremely talented vendors who will also be putting forth their artistic vision and creative interpretation (which just makes each session even more unique!).
Our goal is for each styled session to be very different and distinct. If you came to each one of our True to Hue sessions, you won’t ever feel like you’ve shot something similar in a past workshop. Each one will be distinct and include a new mix of vendors, models, styling, and concepts.
WHAT WILL THE STYLING AND AESTHETIC BE LIKE?
This depends on your shooting style and what gear you like to work with! We recommend bringing most of your typical wedding day gear. If you need extra gear (like an off-camera flash or something) for a workshop, we'll be sure to let you know!
What type of gear should I bring?
There are no refunds once you have paid the invoice. But you can sell your spot to another participant with the approval of Bronte Bride. If you cannot make the session due to unforeseen circumstances, contact us at hello@brontebride.com (more than 7 days before the session), to transfer your session fee to another upcoming session. There are no refunds available within 2 weeks of a session, but transfers are possible (minus a $65 processing fee). If there are extenuating circumstances, 50% of the fee will be retained to use towards a future session, and 50% will be refunded (minus the $65 processing fee).
DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?
We're in unprecedented times with Covid-19, and there is the possibility of sessions being postponed. We want to make sure everyone stays safe and we're doing our part.
So if a session does get postponed, we will schedule a new date and let you know! If you cannot make the new date, your investment can be transferred to a future session (minus a $25 processing fee).
WHAT HAPPENS IF A SESSION GETS CANCELLED?
No, attendees are not permitted to submit photos taken during the workshop to any magazines, blogs, contests or exhibitions. These events are hosted by Brontë Bride, a local publication, and all sessions will be published there - featuring the images from our lead photographers. You are absolutely permitted to use any images taken at the workshop on your website, social media, blog, and other portfolio showcases!
Can I submit my photos for publication?
Please respect our process and do not send your images to our participating vendors unsolicited. The exception being, if a vendor approaches you specifically requesting an image from you (you are then permitted to send the image(s) if you choose to do so).
You are more than welcome to send your galleries to Bronte Bride (hello@brontebride.com) for a chance to be featured on our Instagram or blog!!

Our shootouts are perfect for photographers and videographers of all levels. Whether you are new and want some practice with couples or shooting details or have been shooting for years and are seeking some creativity and inspiration, all are welcome to attend, and all will benefit from this beautiful content to be added to your portfolio!
Are your shootouts for beginners or professionals only?
Our shootouts are a group activity that allows each of our photographers to pose, direct, and interact with the models. We try to keep shooting groups small so everyone has an opportunity to shoot, pose, and direct. If that's something you're not comfortable with yet, you can also learn a lot from watching how the other photographers pose and direct!
Will I get individual time with the Couple/models?
WORKSHOP FAQ
Each session will have a different local and experienced instructor! Different instructors means learning new strategies, tips, and skills, every time. Usually workshops like these are hosted by photographers, which means if you go to one, you might not want to invest in it again because you’re not sure how much more you’re going to learn and what the overlap will be like. Because True to Hue is hosted by a publication (Bronte Bride), you’re getting stunning content but also distinct and novel education from a variety of photographers.
Who are the instructors?
1. Smaller & shorter sessions with thoughtfully curated details and extravagant styling means you get to build your portfolio with unique content without having to spend $$$ for travel and accommodations (it also means you can pick and choose which sessions are right for you). So you get to invest in multiple sessions throughout the year, rather than 1 big lump sum for a workshop you’re not 100% sure about.
2. Consistency and experience. At this point, we've curated over a dozen TTH sessions, and we have the experience, systems, and know-how under our belt to give you quality content and help you to have an amazing experience every time!
3. We’re transparent. So you know who the instructor will be, the shoot aesthetic, the teaching points, the styled segments, and the cost before you sign up. Transparency means no surprises (well… we might still have a couple good surprises for you…).
What does this mean? It means you don’t have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on 4 day workshops, or an arm and a leg on travel & accommodation too. It means you can invest in multiple workshops throughout the year (because they’re only 3-7 hours and less expensive) and choose what you want to learn! You get to decide what content you want to shoot, and what photographers you want to learn from! You get to decide which dates work best for you, and which teaching points would be of most value to you! Our goal is to create a workshop that you feel confident investing in time and time again, knowing that you’re going to get stunning content and great education every time.

Each session page has information on the workshop, like the date, time, instructor(s), segments, as well as learning points that will be focused on throughout the session.
Each photographer comes with a different teaching style and different areas of expertise.
