I chatted with Ashley from AH Designs, and asked her all about her new collection! Read the interview to find out more about her style, if her collection is for you, and where to shop!

When and why did you start AH Designs?

AH Designs actually spiralled out from a crafting business I had started. So unfortunately, I don’t know an official start date, but if I had to guess it would have been in the year 2017. Because, my business started as an “All Crafts” business. I was really just looking for something to keep me busy since I had finished university and making ‘things’ has always been a major passion of mine. In that time, I was able to narrow down my numerous crafts to a single focus: making jewelry.

How would you describe your jewelry style?

I try and keep all my jewelry as minimal and clean as possible. However, depending on the season, I like to add in different elements of flair. For example, my spring collection featured very bright colors and florals and my winter collection focuses on more muted, dark colors and textures.

What inspired this new bridal collection?

This collection was entirely inspired by both my own personal taste as well as what is going on in my personal life as of lately! I am getting married in July 2020, so it only seemed fitting to align my jewelry with the other thing I will be spending a large chunk of my time planning this year.

Since I’ve been engaged I’ve been looking at bridal jewelry and found a lot of the jewelry clashed with my personal style, which is a lot more minimal than most bridal collections. So for my bridal collection, I am striving to focus on the more minimal brides.

What kind/style of bride is this collection for?

Simple elegance for the contemporary bride. The Elegance Collection features gold pieces with simple accents such as pearls, small zirconia charms, and crystal gems.

Where can people buy your jewelry?

My jewelry can be purchased in a number of small boutiques as well as on my online shop. In Calgary, you can find my AH line at Peacock Boutique (Kensington, Beltline and Inglewood locations), Outside the Shape, The Ravens Room, and The Curated Shop at The Core.
