This beautiful mountainside elopement is truly romantic elegance at its finest. With a stunning grounded floral arch for the ceremony, and gorgeous views of Tunnel Mountain as a backdrop, Carmen and Mike’s mountainside elopement checks all our favourite boxes for mountain weddings.

Moments by Madeleine helped Carmen and Mike navigate their changing plans, and designed an intimate elopement filled with an array of romantic details, including our favourite feature (can you tell?!), a stunning floral installation from Flowers by Janie, created with an array of blush florals and delicate greenery. With views of Tunnel Mountain and Lake Minnewanka, Kristyn Harder‘s images reveal a few intimate moments and delicate details of a day we can safely title #elopementgoals.

From the Bride:

We decided to do the elopement at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir and it was perfect. Mike and I hung out all day, relaxed and then got ready together. It was pouring rain as we were driving to the ceremony location but as soon as we parked the skies cleared and the sun made an appearance. It was a very relaxed vibe with no stress and because it was just the two of us, I was able to focus on Mike and soak up the moment.

We felt blessed to have been able to still tie the knot on our original date but we are both very much looking forward to having all of our family and friends gather together in 2022. Carmen

This beautiful grounded floral arch from Flowers by Janie proves two things:
1. You don’t always need a traditional ceremony arch
2. You can create a stunning ceremony setup without detracting from the mountain view

From the Planner:

By the end of March 2020, we began to reach out to our spring and summer couples with news that no one in the wedding industry was ready to deliver. “COVID19 might affect what your wedding day will looks like.” For some this meant postponing both the ceremony and the party, for others it meant decreasing the guest list drastically but after a few late night phone calls with Carmen and Mike, we knew that moving forward with their ceremony on their original date of 06.06.2020 was on their hearts. The date itself is incredibly special to them, and saying their vows to each other on that date was an absolute must. I asked Carmen what she wanted the day to look like, what she envisioned, and her response was mountain views and beautiful florals as the backdrop for their commitment to each other.Moments by Madeline

This dreamy illusion tulle gown (Lunella by Willowby) is studded with sparkly crystals and stands out beautifully against the mountains of Banff National Park.
