This captivating editorial draws inspiration from the real-life story of Kylie, a bride who beautifully fused her Indonesian heritage with Western elegance. Re-imagining a traditional Indonesian wedding through the lens of a modern Canadian bride, this shoot designed by Melissa Dawn Event Designs and captured by Revel Photography & Films showcases how cultural elements can be woven into a modern wedding with a minimalist touch, creating a celebration that’s both sophisticated and brimming with personal significance.

From the Photographer:

Every detail of this fusion wedding inspiration is a thoughtful reflection of Indonesian heritage fused with western culture. As a mixed-race woman of Caucasian and Indonesian descent, Kylie felt compelled to incorporate elements of both western and Indonesian bridal traditions into her wedding celebration. Her maternal family hails from the Melayu tribe in Indonesia, specifically from the Padang region of West Sumatra. The wedding traditions from this part of the world are breathtaking, and she chose to incorporate some of her favourites into her special day. Revel Photography

Kylie is wearing a stunning kebaya from Irvan Adiputra, designed with a contemporary twist on the intricate Javanese bridal garment.

Breathtaking florals by Hen & Chicks and curated decor from Modern Rentals showcase an elegant and sophisticated table design.
