This Winter Wedding in Canmore may have been chilly, but this couple sure did make the best of it! With blankets at the ceremony for guests to use, pinecone decorations, and cozy portraits in the snow, this New Year’s Eve Wedding celebrates the blissful beauty of winter weddings, chilly weather and all!
From the Bride:
On a chilly New Year’s Eve, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon we tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony with 140 of our closest family and friends. The setting was breathtaking; the spectacular Three Sisters mountain range at Silvertip Resort in Canmore.
We felt so loved that so many people wanted to be part of our special day. We chose to have a winter wedding because the mountains in the winter are unbelievably beautiful.
Our florist, Fleurish, recommended we do all greenery. Alberta winters can be -40 one minute and a chinook can roll through the next. We didn’t want to take the risk of having flowers as they could die quickly in the cold. We were so happy we went with greenery. Not only was it true to the season but it smelt so good. We added lanterns and white glass votive candles to each table to again create a romantic feel. Of course, being a New Years Eve wedding, we couldn’t forget the crackers! from the bride
