This imaginative editorial illustrates a battle between a young woman and her alter ego, portraying a psychosis that slowly unravels as her alter ego takes over. With a uniquely styled tablescape in the richest jewel tones and seriously chic wedding-day fashions, this editorial is so much more than just timely halloween inspiration! We’re loving the wild florals from Grasslands Flower Co, ultra chic gowns from Park & Fifth (that we’re seriously crushing on!), and the beautiful styling work of Fox Hair Salon and Alannah Hilton for hair and makeup. These two looks definitely serve as bold inspo for the alternative bride, one looking for something a little more avant-garde for their wedding day!
With art direction from Rebekah Brontë Designs and the creative photography techniques of Nikki Collette Photography, this vendor team truly steps “outside of the box” to create something unusual – yet beautiful. Scroll through the gallery below and you’ll find a fantasy world of self-reflection and seduction, with a conceptual narrative that’s equally eerie, mystifying, and breathtaking.
Alter ego (n): an alternative self; an alteration, an iteration. Distinct from one’s normal or “true” personality. An altered state of being; a secondary version of oneself.
From the Designer:
From the dresses, to the bouquet colours, to the jewelry, and hair and makeup, each decision was carefully curated by myself and our amazing creative team to further this narrative. And what we ended up with was two pretty stunning (and completely different!) looks that really sink into the fantasy of it, but that are also quite wearable, especially for those wanting to make a bolder statement.
Unlike the aspects glad and gay, that erst were found reflected there –
The vision of a woman, wild with more than womanly despair.

The location, you ask? This editorial takes place at the Orchard Restaurant, an opulent venue found in downtown Calgary, filled with more greenery and hanging plants than you can count!
Pass – as the fairer visions pass – Nor ever more return, to be
The ghost of a distracted hour, That heard me whisper: – ‘I am she!’
