This simple and intimate elopement in the heart of Calgary shows that no matter the size of your guest list, the cost of your gown, or the embellishments on your invitations, your wedding is about expressing your unique love. At Brontë Bride, we are firm believers that there is no “right way” to have a wedding: your wedding should be the way YOU want it to be.

And that’s what we love about today’s feature elopement; Chelsey and Kevin’s minimalist approach to their wedding day was truly a breath of fresh air. This elopement is a refreshing reminder that a wedding should be about the love shared between you and your boo, not about the size of your guest list.

From the Photographer:

Chelsey and Kevin’s elopement was a dream for me to shoot. I love focusing on raw emotions and the story of the day and having only the two of them (and their 82 year old neighbour Joe) really allowed me to capture every laugh and tear. They rented a funky Air Bnb to get ready in and exchange their vows and then we visited a few of their favourite spots around the city and finished the day with a celebratory cocktail. Chelsey had recently found out that she was pregnant and they shared the slideshow of their day with their friends and family to let them in on the happy news. I was able to watch a few of their reactions to the photos and even I was in tears. This is exactly the type of day that makes me excited to be a photographer.Mint Photography
I wish I could share just one special moment but I loved this entire day. Chelsey looked so effortlessly cool in her jumpsuit that showed off her barely there baby bump and Kevin looked so dapper in his tux. Chelsey’s bouquet from Fall for Florals was the perfect pop of colour on a cold Calgary day. Just being there and getting to witness and capture all of their emotions was such a privilege for me and I’m thankful that they chose me to share in their special day.Mint Photography

From the bride:

Our wedding was simple, but it was exactly right for the two of us. There was no engagement, no build-up, just a decision and a simple plan. We worked with local vendors who were so well organized and connected – they helped us pull something together in a matter of a couple of weeks. Their generosity, talent and passion made the experience seem to unfold without much effort at all on our part, and it came together perfectly on a cold day in November. Our photographer captured the day beautifully which made it so easy to share with our loved ones when we shared our news. We will cherish the day forever and will always look back with gratitude for the amazing local community of professionals that made it happen.
