Gorgeous Fall Colours at Golden Hour In This Warm October Wedding
High school sweethearts Andi and Cole got married on a beautiful fall day, with perfect weather including temperatures hitting 20 degrees! This late October wedding featured fall wedding colours of toffee, burnt orange, terracotta, and forest green, most prominently displayed in the florals by Therese Lopez Florals, and paired with small accents of black to modernize the palette.
The wedding ceremony and reception were hosted at the Foundry Room in Edmonton, Alberta. During the room flip, the couple ventured to the University of Alberta for portraits where Jenny Jean Photography captured the most breathtaking golden hour portraits. The gorgeous fall wedding colours, combined with golden hour light and the ivy-covered walls of the University of Alberta, created a picturesque backdrop for the couple’s big day.
Advice from the Photographer:
If you can, schedule 15-20 minutes for a mini bridal boudoir session on the morning of your wedding. You’re already feeling like a million bucks and looking gorgeous as ever; it’s a great way to get boudoir photos without scheduling an entirely different session for them! Wedding day boudoir works best for brides who might have smaller wedding parties or none at all (Andi had no bridesmaids). There tends to be a bit more time in the getting ready portion of the day when there isn’t a wedding party/bridesmaids. It’s also a great way to replace the bridesmaids champagne pop if you don’t have bridesmaids. Bridal boudoir is refined, feminine, delicate, and ethereal. Such a great way to celebrate a bride on her wedding day! Jenny Jean Photography
Wedding Advice from the Couple:
Don’t get hyper focused on the small stuff, at the end of the day it’s about the marriage not the wedding. So many things are out of your control that day, so just try to soak up the moments, the day goes by so fast!
From the Photographer:
Andi and Cole’s wedding was intimate and they had a GORGEOUS fall day. We had weather of almost +20 and being an October wedding, we had golden hour around 4 pm for their portraits so we had the most DREAMY light. October is becoming one of my favorite times for weddings because the soft light during portraits with an earlier sunset makes for the most gorgeous images. Jenny Jean Photography
From the Bride:
In between the ceremony and cocktail hour, Cole and I spent about 45 minutes alone after taking photos, and we just talked about the day & had a glass of champagne together in the limo. It was so nice to just have time for the two of us on such a busy day. It’s easy to get caught up in everything going on so I’m so happy we had some alone time.
