It’s almost summer, that time of year when all you want to do is tan on the deck, drink mimosas, and hang out with your best babes! Well we’ve got just what you need! Here are 6 elements you’ll need to host the perfect babe brunch along with tips on how to make it your own!
one.
The Invitation
In case it wasn’t obvious, you’ll need to invite your girlfriends over.
Create a feminine invitation suite to mail out for a more sophisticated soiree, or opt for a simple e-vite to get this party started!
two.
Planning the Theme & Decor
So we know seating is a bit of a no-brainer, but think early on about how you want to table to look and what pieces you want to use to decorate with! Also, remember to consider how many tables, chairs, and place settings you have room for, so you know how many babes you can invite!
Choose a colour palette early on to help keep everything consistent and beautiful from start to finish!
We used plates from Anthropologie to add a pop of colour to each place setting, and gold plated agate napkin rings from Pier 1 to add some glam. Other items you could use for tabletop decoration could be things like macrame, colourful tablecloths, sassy signage, funky dinnerware and glassware, fringed napkins and more!
three.
The Flowers
We love flowers. So we think any event isn’t complete until it’s got some flower power.
These centerpieces from Hen & Chicks were the perfect addition to this brunch!
Choosing bright and colourful flowers will add freshness and femininity to your event! We loved these arrangements with pops of pink, peach, orange, and green!
four.
The Menu
Sweets & Treats are the best fillers, and can add a lot of colour to complement your decor!
But make sure you have some healthy options as well, and a main event.
We chose to serve charcuterie and cheeses, croissants, and a watermelon mint salad, as well as mini donuts from Pretty Sweet Co and macarons from By Ollia.
Our main brunch menu item was a homemade crepe cake, topped with brilliantly-coloured berries and sweet flavoured syrups. Find the recipe here!
five.
Adding That Special Something
Give your babes something to take home with them! And if you’re hosting this event for a specific reason, choose a gift that’s relevant!
Whether it’s a jar of homemade jam, a bar of soap, or a personalized gift for each guest, having favours for your guests will make sure your brunch is an event your babes will never forget!
Need an idea? We love these small jars of bath salts from Lamb Soapworks!
six.
The Bar
We’ve saved the best for last!
What better reason to host a brunch than to have a mimosa bar! It’s easy, it’s cheap, and it makes for a good time! All you need is a bottle of prosecco or sparking rosé, a bottle of orange juice, and a bottle of grapefruit juice, and voila! If you want to get really fancy, pour your juice into clear bottles, bring some garnish like rosemary and mint, and freeze pieces of fruit in your ice cubes the night before!
