This downtown Calgary elopement inspired by the 80’s combines the perfect amount of nostalgia and unique personality. Navigating the city streets in a pistachio green vintage car rental from Figaro Props, this inspiration is a great example of how you can do your wedding your way. And the retro-inspired style doesn’t stop there! The bride’s attire features a playfully short white veil, vintage lace gloves, and a ruffled purple midi-gown – Plus some rockin’ sunglasses for both the bride and groom were featured in their rooftop portraits! If you’ve ever thought about heading downtown to say your ‘I dos’, then you’ll want to scroll down and take notes from this uniquely cool and 80’s inspired downtown elopement.

From the Photographer:

Elopements in Alberta are often thought of as running away to be married in the cliffs and valleys of the rocky mountains. But a downtown elopement can be just as beautiful and have equally sweeping views as the mountain celebrations we’re used to seeing. I always tell my couples to create a day that feels like you; so If you’re a city person, elope in the city! Rent that vintage car, run across rooftops, take the flash portraits and end the night at your favourite restaurant! Nora Hanako Photography

The purple-toned glassware and disco balls paired with violet and chartreuse florals from Floral and Field are a perfect pairing for this retro inspiration!
