Considering a bridal boudoir session? This feminine and floral portrait session might just convince you!

When it comes to your wedding, it’s all about love, beauty, and celebration. But make sure to not forget about the importance of self-love and empowerment! A bridal boudoir session is the perfect way to integrate all of these elements into one meaningful experience.

Inspired by the brightness and freshness of Spring, this bridal photoshoot features a pastel palette that exudes femininity and class. With florals by Fairydell Creek and beautiful stationery details from Studio Dukesa and Written By Minh, this floral filled boudoir session featured intimate bridal portraits beautifully captured by Tara Jen Photo. We also chatted with the beautiful bride herself, Summer, who shared with us all about her boudoir experience, and also gave some advice to other brides considering a similar session.

Summer is a bride of elegant taste and knew she wanted her session to feel traditional but have an exquisite twist. She decided to keep the classic bridal look with her intimates but showcased the luscious colours in her smaller details. As the creative I watched the brides mood shift from feeling sultry and elegant to being empowered all throughout the session. There was no better way to spark confidence prior to her special day and a reminder that bridal boudoir can be soft, romantic and encompass the delicacy of femininity. Tara Jen Photo

What made you decide to book a bridal boudoir session?

“Having done boudoir in the past, I was familiar with “how it goes down”. You will never self-care more than the months leading up to your wedding! (Cue hair appts, facials, skin creams, lasering off that awful tattoo you got when you were 19). I thought, why not take it one step further and do a bridal themed boudoir? I can do boudoir anytime, but how many times will I get a chance to be a bride and specifically do bridal theme? I wanted to get into the mood of my bridal era and a bridal themed boudoir did just that!”

What did you love about your bridal boudoir session? How did it make you feel?

“I absolutely loved how elegant and ethereal I felt. I wanted something classy, timeless, and elegant. I’ve been seeing a lot of brides doing secret bridal boudoirs to gift to their husbands on the day of the wedding and I think it’s such a romantic and erotic idea. I knew immediately I wanted to do one and I can’t wait for my husband-to-be to see them. I love that the images are very obviously bridal – with the veil, flowers, and invites scattered. I felt empowered in my femininity. I felt powerful, sexy, graceful and elegant, all at once.”

Any advice to brides considering their own session?

“I say, if you’re unsure, book it anyway! You will never regret how amazing you feel after photoshoot day. You start the morning getting pampered with hair and makeup, you pick out outfits that make you feel good in your body, and the photographer will ‘pose’ you to flaunt your body in the most beautiful and flattering ways. It can be nerve wracking and a little uncomfortable to quite literally bare all in front of a stranger, but I promise that once you get back images you cannot believe are you…you will be so glad you did it.”
