Peter stunned – his now fiancé! – Michelle with the surprise proposal of her dreams, on a snowy afternoon at Lake Louise. After planning behind the scenes with photographer Carly Hill for weeks, the couple arrived at Lake Louise for what Michelle thought was a normal afternoon of lunch at Chateau Lake Louise. But with Carly following closely behind on their walk through the fresh snow, Peter dropped to one knee and surprised Michelle by proposing in the middle of the snow-covered clearing. Lake Louise is close to both their hearts, as it’s a place they like to visit every year, so the snow-capped mountains and sentimental location set the perfect scene for this surprise proposal!

From the Groom to be:

I proposed at Lake Louise because it’s one of our all time favourite spots, and has Michelle’s favourite hotel in the world. I had to find a way to make it a surprise, so I mentioned that Golden B.C just got dumped on with some fresh powder and we should head that way. I said we should stop at the Chateau for lunch and she was certainly up for that idea. When we got there, I mentioned we should take a few photos before lunch, and about 5 minutes into the walk I popped the question. And lucky me, she said yes!

I had actually wanted to propose much earlier in the year, but timing hadn’t worked out, and then Covid hit. Planning became very hard with the pandemic and any idea I had seemed to go away with restrictions. The opportunity for a ski trip came up at one of our favourite places, so I jumped at that idea!Peter

From the Photographer:

The moment was perfect, Michelle was completely shocked, and I was overflowing with love and appreciation to be able to capture such an important and exciting time in their lives! Peter had never seen Michelle so surprised before!! He couldn’t believe the state of simultaneous bliss and shock that she was in! It is obvious how much they love each other! Carly Hill

From the Bride to be:

The image of fresh snow fall, castle backdrop, and Pete on one knee looking up at me will live rent free in my mind forever.Michelle
