welcome to the

Kelsey & James surprised their photographer by bringing a vintage couch, spring-inspired bouquet and styling items to their engagement session at Manchester Square! This session proves that tasteful engagement session props can elevate your photos and showcase your unique style. With romantic and playful fine art film images from Jenny Jean Photography, this post is packed with prop inspiration for your own engagement session.

From the Photographer:

Earlier last year Kelsey and James purchased a vintage couch after seeing wedding photos with a vintage aesthetic on Pinterest. They thought it would make the perfect addition to the Manchester Square’s European motif so they brought it along with them!

The rest of the items they mixed and matched from their wedding decor and picked up the stool and hexagon boxes from Michaels to add some different dimensions to the photos. The day before their engagement session they picked up a beautiful bouquet from Laurel’s on Whyte. We all had so much fun setting up the full scene together!Jenny Jean Photography

From the Couple:

We had a longer time being engaged because of COVID, which was definitely not what we expected. The first time we planned the wedding it took up a lot of time organizing it. After the first one was postponed, we shifted gears and planned the “second” wedding a lot faster. We got to have a bonus year of enjoying the time being engaged.

We always love talking about what married life will be like and what our future holds. There is something so special about this time. The word “fiancé” has a kind of excitement to it. Like something is happening right away! People always have a certain kind of response to hearing us mention our fiancé. We like the energy that comes with being engaged. There is a short time in your life that you get to call your partner your fiancé and it’s a fun time.Kelsey & James

From the Photographer:

Bringing props to your engagement session can give your gallery a very editorial feel. Small props can make a big impact! Anything from a freshly-picked bouquet to hold, blankets or hats are all great options. I just loved the beautiful bouquet Kelsey got from Laurel’s on Whyte! Flowers always add such beauty, elegance, and romance to images. Larger items make great props too- a perfect example being a beautiful vintage couch, just like the one Kelsey and James brought to their session! It is such a fun way to make your images more unique. Jenny Jean Photography

This couple has #stylegoals to match their talent for choosing props. We’re in love with Kelsey’s white dress from Park & Fifth Co!
