The overall design of the tables and place settings at your wedding is a crucial component of putting together a cohesive and beautiful event. But where to start? There are many things to consider when it comes to tablescape design, like colour, linens, glassware, place setting layout, flatware arrangement, centerpiece style, and more!

When we began planning and designing E+G’s wedding we wanted to incorporate heavy florals and lots of pink and gold details. The carousel goblets added a splash of pink to compliment the pink blooms in the arrangements. We had beautiful calligraphy done for the place cards and menus with monogrammed gold wax seals. We kept the linens simple with a matte white on the long tables and matte barely-blush for the rounds with matching blush napkins. Macaron favours of blush and light green were placed on every place setting. Using varying shades of pink gave a soft and feminine feel to the room.
Tip: The aesthetic of your venue does not always need to dictate the aesthetic of your wedding design! We loved adding feminine details and a floral garden feel to a more industrial venue.

This eclectic design merged modern elements with an organic bohemian aesthetic. The outdoor concrete structure set the stage for this beautiful boho tablescape, which features rattan chargers, terracotta clay elements, vintage glassware, and modern copper flatware, all on a beautiful dark wood table with matching benches.

Tip: If you have more of a bohemian style in mind for your event, just adding a few rattan and wicker elements (like chargers, place mats, lanterns, napkin rings, or baskets) will add to that earthy laid-back vibe! Also whether it’s on your place cards, vases, or other decor pieces, you really can’t go wrong with terracotta!

A mirrored table is the centrepiece for this modern tablescape. Rose tinted glassware and chargers add something special without attracting too much attention, and floral arrangements tie the look together by drawing the eye from top to bottom.
Tip: Have fun playing with mediums to display your florals! Here we have a mix of florals on pillars, in antique vases, and as a grounding floorpiece.

This tablescape was inspired by the dramatic colours of the charcuterie board and rich toned florals. Paired with the uniqueness of a mobile bar, this setup is to inspire a sexy ‘clink and cheers’ experience for the moody and romantic couple.
Tip: For couples looking to create a unique and intimate style gathering, consider the familiar feel of a picnic with a lowered table, while keeping the elegance of tableware, florals and the small touches. The bold colours of the charcuterie board paired with rich toned florals are enough to compliment your intimate and cozy experience.

With a floral centerpiece reaching the length of the table, and citrus elements peaking through, this tablescape design brought in all the best elements of summer! We chose to go bold with the palette, incorporating citrus tones of yellow, orange, tangerine, and green! Crepe napkins in orange and tangerine were folded into a knot and placed effortlessly on every-other plate.
Tip: Napkins are an excellent way to incorporate pops of colour into your table design! We actually made these napkin ourselves from discounted chiffon-crepe fabric we bought in store, and then measured and tore them ourselves! Crepe and chiffon are both wonderful materials for this napkin diy because they both tear so easily, leaving a beautiful frayed edge.

Our bride for this wedding gave us nearly full creative control in designing the details in their wedding day. Her three requests for her wedding were incorporating rose gold, lots of flowers and an elevated boho aesthetic. For the tables we went with rose gold chargers, matching rose gold flatware, peach napkins, crisp white table linens and plum taper candles. The clear carousel water goblets paired with classic Riedel wine glasses brought a different texture to the glassware and a touch of a more boho vibe.
Tip: When designing your table scape think of adding varied heights to your table so there are multiple places your guests eyes are drawn too without being overwhelming with multiple pieces in the same level! Taper candles with low centrepieces or garland are a great way to add dimension to your table.

It’s all about warmth in this romantic candlelit tablescape. A collection of crystal glasses, candle holders, and vases sparkle beautifully against gold flatware and charger plates. A tonal gauzy fabric makes for the perfect table runner, softening the textures of the crystal and hard stone table.
Tip: If your venue has a unique style, try to work with the features of the venue, not against them! Complement what’s already there with your own flare, instead of trying to overpower it.

With inspiration from the Rocky Mountains and Kananaskis area, the team built a modern, yet casual trapper tent wedding that took picnic tables to a whole new level! Hanging florals, pops of colour, camping traditions and the natural backdrop helped showcase a unique take on a ‘camping wedding.’ I wanted to inspire couples with a thirst for the outdoors while still incorporating the wedding traditions and unique elements of celebration!
Tip: When styling an outdoor picnic table, consider forgoing formal linens and opt for a simple runner. Not only will this work in your favour if there are unpredictable winds and weather elements, but it doesnt cover the wooden tables that become so much a part of an outdoor inspired event. It’s also a good idea to put your napkins under the plates to make sure they stay put – and a way to style them that isnt always seen!
